幼いころ、よくレイ・チャールズの音楽を聴いて育ちました。
僕が初めて興味をもったアーティストがこの人です。
もう亡くなってしまったけれど、僕のなかではずっと生き続けることでしょう。

RAY CHARLES登録ありがとうございます!
遺作アルバム『Genius Loves Company(邦題:ジーニアス・ラブ～永遠の愛)』
がグラミー賞で8冠となりましたね。
私は彼の曲をここで発言出来るほど聴いていないのですが、
これを機会にこのアルバムを購入しつつ、
彼の作品を聴いてみようと思っています☆
個人的にレイ・チャールズについて印象的なのは、
TV『ミュージック・フェア(だったと思う)』で
サザンオールスターズの「いとしのエリー」のカヴァー?を
演奏していたことです。
あの純正ソウルフルな「いとしのエリー」は
(もちろん原曲も素晴らしいのですが)圧巻でした。
