文字通り「MORBID TALES」とMetal Blade盤「EMPEROR’S RETURN」収録の曲をシャッフルして収録。HELLHAMMERからバンド名を改名するも、音楽性にさしたる変更はなし、ギターリフオリエンテッドなスラッシュサウンドは、イーブルな手触りを残す病的なほど陰鬱なダークスタイルを確立。喉を潰すよう歌うTom G. Warriorも黒いエキスを放出と、厭らしさに見も心も侵されそうだ。
ハードコアとブラックサバスが融合したと騒がれたサウンドは、アンダーグランドシーンの勢力図を塗り替えるほどのインパクトだった。
