先にギタリストのMike Campbellが書いた哀愁メロディに、D.Henleyが遠く過ぎ去りし10代の夏を回想する詞を付けて84年10月下旬リリース。そんな曲だから、イケイケ気分の夏真っ盛りにはむしろ似合わない(と個人的には思う)けど、聴く時季を選べば名曲に違いない。

寂しげで哀愁たっぷりなイントロでまず泣けます。そして、いないとわかっていても彼女の家に行ってしまう男の悲しい性に苦笑い。
曲全体で、夏の濃厚な思い出と、秋のいてもたってもいられない男の心境を語っている。これはもう、「聴くドラマ」だ。
